Finance the construction of a photovoltaic power plant in Yonne
The Plaine de Nange project , developed by the Boralex group, involves the construction of a photovoltaic power plant located in the Yonne department, in Rosoy and Etigny.
This facility contributes to the energy transition and the deployment of renewable energies in the region.
Boralex aims to raise €200,000 . The funds raised will be used to finance part of the construction costs.
The power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in the summer of 2026 and will have an installed capacity of 28.93 MWp, producing the equivalent of the annual consumption of 14,000 people *.
* ADEME and INSEE ; annual electricity consumption excluding heating of 4,792 kWh/year and 2.15 people per household.

The project
A solar project combining two technologies
Plaine de Nange is a photovoltaic project under construction located in the municipalities of Rosoy and Etigny in the Yonne department.
This power plant has the unique feature of installing solar panels both on the ground, as in traditional power plants, and on water using floating structures.
A project secured on all aspects
The land required for this project has been secured by a notarial deed in August 2025. The power plant has obtained the necessary administrative permits for its construction in January 2024. The permits are free of any appeals since July 2025. The connection is also secured with a connection agreement signed with Enedis in July 2025.
A productive and beneficial project
The power plant will consist of 46,665 photovoltaic panels spread over 20.51 hectares , with 8.79 hectares on the ground and 11.72 hectares on water. The total capacity will be 28.93 MWp (11.43 MWp on the ground and 17.5 MWp on water).
* ADEME and INSEE ; annual electricity consumption excluding heating of 4,792 kWh/year and 2.15 people per household.
** Engie ; CO2 emissions avoided by photovoltaic solar in France: 238g CO2eq/kWh.
💡 The unit “MWp” (pronounced MegaWatt peak) corresponds to the electrical power output of a photovoltaic panel under standard measurement conditions:
- Air temperature at 25°C
- Standard sunlight at 1,000 Watts per square meter
The “MWh” (pronounced MegaWatt hour) is a unit of energy. It is a unit of power multiplied by a unit of time.
💡 1 MW = 1,000 kW = 1,000,000 W

Impact
Project owners
Boralex is a Quebec-based energy producer founded in 1990. Established in France since 1999, Boralex works alongside local authorities to develop, build, operate, and maintain renewable energy production sites, including wind, solar, and storage.
Strong presence in France
- 1st independent producer of onshore wind energy in France.
- Over 80 operational sites – wind, solar, and storage – with an installed capacity of over 1.25 GW.
- In 2024, the production from its 83 wind, solar, and storage parks powered the electricity needs of over 1.4 million French people, equivalent to the combined consumption of the cities of Lyon and Marseille. This avoided nearly 148,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in 2024, equivalent to removing 72,000 vehicles from the roads for a year.
- More than 300 men and women contribute daily to the energy transition across France. With a network of 16 agencies and maintenance bases, all located within two hours of its parks, Boralex is a locally integrated field player.
CSR at the heart of project development
Producing green electricity helps reduce fossil fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, contributing to the decarbonization of the economy. Guided by its values and corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach, Boralex ensures sustainable and resilient growth, particularly through:
-
Respecting and protecting biodiversity by implementing innovative solutions, such as:
- Deploying a bird protection system for its wind farms using artificial intelligence combined with high-precision optical technology.
- Promoting eco-grazing in the operation of some of its solar parks, supporting extensive grazing to naturally maintain site vegetation.
- Commitment to a “net-zero emissions economy” trajectory: Boralex pledges to establish a clear and transparent plan to reduce its carbon footprint using the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) methodology, aligned with the Paris Agreement.
- Exemplary management practices: various initiatives are undertaken to address these challenges, including promoting inclusion, diversity, equal opportunities, and the health and safety of its teams.
